Germany 1990 World Cup Winners Football Team Print

Held on the 8th July 1990, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, the 1990 World Cup Final took place between West Germany & defending champions Argentina in a repeat of the same fixture 4 years previous. After 2 failed attempts in 1982 & 1986, Germany went on to secure victory by a slender 1-0 scoreline & with it, lifted the trophy for the third time. It was a late Andreas Brehme penalty in the 85 minute that eventually proved to be the difference & contributed to one of the biggest days in German football history.
