On the 20th May 1995 Everton won the Cup in the 50th final to be played at Wembley since the Second World War by beating Manchester Utd 1-0 on the day. Paul Rideout scored the only goal of the match, with legendary Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall managing to hold out again the United attack.
