Taking place at the Memorial Stadium on 26th May, the second leg of the 2010 Rugby Union Championship Playoff final was contested between Bristol & Exeter. Taking a slender 9-6 lead from the first leg, Exeter quickly extended their advantage with two early penalties from Gareth Steenson. Although Bristol staged a spirited fightback Steenson was unstoppable on the night ending the game with 24 points ensuring top flight Rugby for the first time in Exeter’s history.
